2021

(A.K.A. 2020 2: Electric Boogaloo)

December went as well as I could have hoped. I survived the busy season at work with my body mostly intact. I received an outpouring of generosity and support from my friends and family, affording me the opportunity to expand on my art-thing. I created some cool stickers that I plan to put up for sale towards the end of January.

On a scale of 1 to 2020, where 1 is not global-pandemic level bad, I’d give December a single 20.

Going into the new year I have zero expectations and I am sure I will still be disappointed. I could wax poetically about how little adding a 1 instead of a 0 to the end of the date makes a difference, but I’ll sum it up quickly. My rent is still due three days before my paycheck, chronic pain is still chronic, and the sun is still roasting us from the outside in.

Now that the pessimist inside me is satisfied, let’s move on to the next order of business. Optimism.

Personally, I have a lot of plans for this year. While I may have zero expectations, plans I have in abundance. I am in a good place with my art. I’m in a good place in my relationship. Mentally I’m as well off as I’ve ever been. In 2021 I plan to keep being good, which is good.

Eesh, if there was ever something that explained me so well.

Honestly, I wish I could have been around to see the process of you finding your art, but I’m totally around for the ride now <3
